If My Internet Friends Were In Hunger Games

Alternate Ending:

It was a warm, sunny day. Elizabeth was laying in her makeshift hammock, relaxing her isolation away. She had gotten rid of Bob-Bob long ago, with her exquisite sword skills.

Rosie knew she had to win, for the sake of her district. She was wandering around the West zone of the Amazon, her dagger unused and sheathed, hanging by her waist. She was mostly trying to survive, keeping out of the way of the other tributes. She knew that Elizabeth and Olyvia had battled last night, when she found the latter barely alive by the river. Olyvia was good during the training, but she was still average. It was a surprise that she had lasted this long. Now, there was her, Elizabeth and Darya.

Making her way through the ivy, she tried to be as quiet as possible. If she wanted to win, stealth was key. Elizabeth was still deep in her thoughts. She knew, when the others tributes came in search of her, she’d surprise them and defeat them to victory. Pretending to sleep was one of her ideas to lure the tributes to her.

Rosie found Elizabeth in her hammock. She quickly hid behind a nearby tree. She could see that Elizabeth had a faint smirk on her face. Rosie instantly knew that Elizabeth was setting a trap. She saw Darya emerge from the clearing behind the hammock. Both of the tributes were well trained in sword fighting. But Darya was one of the better tributes. She cared about others, but winning was inevitable without death. Rosie quickly climbed the tree, sitting on the lowest branch. She could see Darya and Elizabeth, but they couldn’t see her.

Darya raised her sword, ready for striking, when Elizabeth swiftly rose from her hammock, in her fighting pose. She immediately went for Darya’s arm. Darya was shocked, but quickly blocked Elizabeth's blow. Rosie was watching them with intensity. Her breath was heavy, coming out in pants and gasps. In only a few minutes, Elizabeth had made Darya lose her sword and was about to pierce her sword through Darya’s chest, when Rosie felt determination surge through her. Elizabeth didn’t deserve to win. Rosie unsheathed her dagger, closed one eye, and aimed at Elizabeth’s back.

Darya and Elizabeth were unaware of Rosie’s presence in the tree. They only realised someone was up there when Elizabeth felt a stinging pain in her back. The dagger had pierced through the middle of her shoulder blades, and punctured her trachea. Elizabeth dropped her sword and fell face first into the dirt. Blood was oozing from the wound, indicating that Elizabeth was dead. Darya looked up in the direction of where the dagger had come from. She saw Rosie climb down from the tree, and make her way over to them. Before she could reach, Darya removed the dagger from Elizabeth’s body, and held it up to her chest.

“No! What are you-“ Rosie saw Darya collapse onto the ground, beside Elizabeth’s body.

“Why? Why would you do this?!” Rosie sat down and lifted Darya’s head in her lap. Darya was releasing short breaths, her time was near. Darya smiled. “I know you needed to win. Your district has been shamed and looked down on. With this victory, you can finally gain the respect you deserve.” And with a last breath, Darya’s head limped in Rosie’s lap.

Rosie realised what had happened, and it took her a few seconds to come to terms with it. She slowly layed Darya’s head on the ground, and rose from her position.

With a deep breath, she said, “I won.”
